Introducing our top 6 finalists:
A Chinaman who seems to specialize in songs by Blue. He sang BOTH "All Rise" & "Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word". Would've won Peggy's heart i think. Hahahaha.. Sadly, his performance was one that was barely bearable. =S
2. Mick
Mick's a Thai representing Victoria Hall. He sang Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You" & "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". Gotta say it out loud, the first song was a terribly bad choice. Don't think any guy's able to sing that song. Need the womanly voice / pain and just the PMS kinda emotion to sing it. Think he almost screamed / shouted at the climax of the song. Lol.. However, he did surprsingly well for his second song. It was actually good! As seen by the appreciation of his fans from above. Hahaha..
3. Janice
Moving on, finally a decent performance! And surprise surprise! Guess who she is? She's none other than THE Janice that left Lodge School, Kuching at Form 1. Jason Pui's sister! Can't believe that this was how I met her in Singapore. It's a small world after all ain't it? Well, not saying that Singapore is any big. Lol. Anways...
Janice sang "Someone's Watching Over Me" & "Tangled Up In Me" From the pictures above, we can see that she did indeed dressed appropriately for both songs. Gotta say the second outfit was very Avril. Hahaha.. Well, she sang both songs well. Not much comments I hafta say about them, just job well done! and glad to finally meet you in person! =D
4. Jade
Next up is Jade, a Vietnamese from Hwa Chong Institution. First and foremost, her name's not exactly Jade but rather some long 4 worded Vietnamese name. Don't know it but think Jade suits her better anyway. Hahaha.. Her two songs were "Sometimes When We Touch" & "What If"
Jade's first song was.. WOW!!! It was mainly accapella because the guitar accompanying her didn't function properly until halfway through the song. So she most of the song just only using her voice and nothing else! And it was BEA-utiful! Omg.. Her voice was one of the best I've ever heard! As for the second song, err.. Don't know what to say as it was nothing compared to the first. So yeah. Lol.
5. Felisa
Felisa Felisa Felisa.. What can I say about her? Hmm.. Well, she's Indonesian. She's from Nanyang Girls Boarding School. And oh yeah, she sings dddaaammmnnn ffffrreeeeaaakkkkiiinnn''' ggggooooodddd!!! Not to mention she has superb tastes in clothes as well. XD
Anyways, Felisa sang "Colours of the Wind" & "If I Ain't Got You". As usual, nothing much to say about her first song, typical Disney songs. After you hear it once, or a couple of times, they all sound pretty much the same to you. But.. It was her second song that blew me & (I'm pretty sure) everyone away! Well all know that Alicia Key's "If I Ain't Got No You" is no easy song right? But.. She handled it magnificently and.. Can't believe I'm actually saying this, but she may even have sung it better than Alicia Keys herself!! I'm effin' serious. She was GOOOD. Hands down her second song beat everybody else's.
Felisa had the crowd all stirred up and running, especially the boys from ACS(I) Boarding School aka my hostel. =S Blood running mind you. Everybody was like rooting and cheering for her. It was one performance that you could die for. If I could watch her perform it live again? I would. [=
6. Daryl
Last but not least, the man of the night, the champ of ACS(I), every boarders' hero.. Give it up for Daryl!!!! *crowd cheers on their feet* Alright.. From that bombastic intro, guess you can already guess which boarding school Daryl's from eh? Well, FYI he's Malaysian!! A Sabahan. So one more for Malaysia! Woot!
Anyways, Daryl sang "Back At One" & "Angels Brought Me Here". His first song, which he sang for the Boarding Superstar (internal competition in ACS Boarding School) was as great as usual. Hit all the notes perfectly and performed it well. Second song was where all the kinks and glithces kicked in. Made some pitching mistakes, couldn't reach some notes.. Yadiyadiyada.. So yeah, second song wasn't that good. But still, he had the whole hostel backing him up!! Not to mention the number of fans he gathered after his one night of FAME. Hahaha..
Oh, if anyone think I'm being biased or anything. Honestly, I'm just telling the truth. Daryl's "Back At One" was perfect as usual. "Angels Brought Me Here"... so so lah. Good but not that good. Could've done a hell lot better loh!! Simply put. [=
Results:
The votes were in and counted. The drums were rolled. The crowd cheered their lungs out and screamed their hearts out. Everybody sweated nervously as the results were being declared... AND!!! Wang Sen, Mick & Janice didn't make it to the top 3.
Jade took the 3rd place. Leaving Daryl and Felisa to fight it out among themselves. After some tense moments, the results were announced.. And Felisa was crowned the champion of FAME 2008!!!
Well, too bad for Daryl. What can we say? He tried his best, and we boarders, as his loyal friends and supporters did our best by voting for him too. All I can say is, better luck next year. [=
Now.. To get my hands on the video clips of them singing. Hmm.. Wonder how am I suppose to do that? Lol..
