Burfdays!

As the title above mentions, this post is all about and dedicated to the people who's birthday fall on the 30th of March!! So, just to my knowledge, I only know two people who shares this same special day.

First off is my own flesh and blood, my cousin, my man, Thomas Lim!! 17 years old this year and going strong! Hope you have a great birthday and stop busying yourself around in Victoria Junior College, so we can go celebrate your birthday properly eh? Hahaha..

Secondly, the chao lakia of Kuching, Sarawak who hunts human heads for fun and drinks tuak then do some funny dance in celebration later: Alexander Marvin Manzes!!! (Yes, his name is really spelled like that) Yo dude, stop spoiling your lungs and go out and enjoy man! Tonight's your night so get ready to be crowned the king of the world! Sadly, I can't join you for whatever plans you have but... I'm wishing you a happy birthday now!! Hahaha..

First Quarter Down

It's the time again! The 25th of the third month this year, signaling the 3 month anniversary since my darling & I got together. I'm just gonna keep this post plain and simple and not waste you readers' time on mushy mushy things.

Just wanna wish my girlfriend happy 3 months anniversary! And appropriately to the month of march, three more words that follow: 9 MORE MONTHS!!! Hahahaha. Bet all of you were expecting the certain "something" else right? =P

World Scholars Cup

The other event that has been keeping my hands tied is none other than World Scholars Cup. Finally, after weeks and weeks of constant busy-ness and studying of the subjects for this competition, it's finally here!!! Not just that, it's over too!! Muahahaha.. So how did we do?

Well, short intro to World Scholars Cup first. A competition held annually across the world for students in teams of 3 to compete with other teams in various subjects. This year it was astronomy: space exploration, history of exploration, literature I & II, economics, maths, and also arts. However, due to some misunderstanding or would rather call it a stroke of luck, my team was put under the junior category (maybe because of our different ties or something XD) so we competed with middle schools from other places.

The competition held in Singapore this time was the South-East Asia regional finals, meaning we competed against teams from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and others. Competition consisted of various forms of examination: essay, MCQ, debate and group question (where a question is posted up for a limited time and the group is suppose to discuss and answer it during that period of time).

My team consisted of Kurt a Filipino, Jia Ren a fellow Malaysian (KL) and mua. We.. don't know how we did for the first two tests exactly, but won 1 round and lost 1 round in debate. Also, for the group question or aka Scholars Quiz, we were 4th in the junior category. Freakin' lost to the Raffles muggers. =\

In the end, all hope seem to be gone because it was suppose to be the top 1/3 teams of each category being sent to Korea for the World Finals. However, amazingly or should i say miracously (Kurt's mum had our fortune told and said that we would make it to Korea!) we made it through!!! XXXXDDDDD

It was unbelievable when the organiser announced the teams that were goin to Korea as my team hadn't done much in the sense that.. We didn't think that we would be good enough to make it through the finals!!! So surprising and yet.. Excellent!!! Woohoo!

So, that was my weekend. Traded most of Fame for World Finals in Korea. Think it's quite a fair trade don't you? Hahaha.. So, objectives now: study like never before for Korea and get video of Fame!! If possible. =D

Fame 2008

This weekend has been one of the most hectic and unforgettable weekends of my life. Went through two major events that saturday: Fame 2008 Inter-boarding School Superstar Competition & World Scholars' Cup.

First off, Fame 2008. One of the biggest event held by the Junior Common Room Committee (JCRC) or also known as the more fun prefects of boarding school. It is the extended version of the internal Boarding Superstar which was held earlier on this year and mentioned in my blog too. So, simply put: Superstars of other boarding schools come together to compete in this one big competition to decide who's the champion. Get it?

So.. From what I know, the contestants were: Felisa - Indonesian (Nanyang Girl), Jade - Vietnamese (Hwa Chong), Janice Pui - Malaysian (Oldham Hall), Mick - Thai (Victoria Hall), ??? - China (???), and our "champion" Daryl Goh - Malaysian (ACS Boarding School). Yes Janice's the ex-lodgian from 1A lastime. Finally met her in Singapore! Sorry for forgetting about the China dude, wasn't there at the competition itself so don't blame me. =D

Each contestans sang their 2 songs, the audience voted: 2 votes for 2 people. Results were tallied in form of percentages and points will be given to the number of percentage of each boarding school. Judges' remarks counts as 20% to overall while the votes take up the other 80%. Well, that's how the voting system goes. I think. =S

Anyways, important part is the results, so here it goes: Jade acquired the 3rd place, Daryl 2nd and last but not least.. Felisa claiming the 1st position and the title of Fame champion!!! Congratulations to all contestans for their great performances!

Sadly, I missed most of the competition only catching Felisa & Daryl's 2nd song. Well, at least I voted! But.. it also didn't make a difference as Daryl came in 2nd. =\ Oh wells, better luck next time Daryl. [=

Overall, Fame was conducted very smoothly despite the frequent complaints and mojos by the JCRC and people involved. All I can say now is, can't wait for next year's Fame!! Both in terms of watching and joining! Hahahaha..

Btw, sorry for the lack of photos and pictures as I only made it to the last part of the competition as said above. I will uploade them up as soon as I can get my hands on some of them. I'll even include some sneaks of the competition itself and load them up on youtube or something. =D

Hello hello hello.. Noticed that I haven't updated for some time. So I'm just dropping by to thank you readers for visiting my blog, ermm.. frequently? although always disappointed with the lack of updates. Hahaha..

Pangseh-ed

Definition of pangseh:

1. Leave someone alone or some people alone (if more than 1) although was together as a group to start with.
2. Ditch someone for certain reasons (mostly negative: dislike, don't fit in etc.)
3. Leaving someone out intentionally

Hence, the meaning of pangseh-ed would mean that the person was the victim or the pangseh-ee. AKA Me. =C

Well, the day started out as usual. Same old same old, lunch then friends called so go out loh. Met them at Riverside and they wanted to watch a movie I already watched: 10 000BC so I decided to watch another movie: Ah Long Pte Ltd, while they watched theirs. Rational decision right?

After that, movie finished. I thought that their movie was longer so I waited.. And waited.. And waited.. Till people started SHOWING UP & GOING INTO the cinema for the NEXT SHOWTIME. I was like... "WTF??!!!!"

Messaged them and went to look for them around Parkson. Roamed around, wandering and end up in Times. Then, they called and said they left already, at Spring at the moment. And I was like...


Then lai lo... explaination kao kao. Called but couldn't get through.. Tried contacting you but cannot. Yadiyadiyada.. Phone didn't say anything, so don't know who to believe. Message also don't have. So how?? Ask me join them.. Come pick me up now. Zzz..

I was like.. Whatever lah! No mood listen liao. So chun chun ho phone batt died. So no need hang up and no need give excuse also. Then, ~I walk a lonely road~ go home loh, Em0 all the way ahh..

Haiz.. Seelah, this post soo clean de. No foul language or any indecent words anywhere. If not, should expect like CENSORED here, there, everywhere! This is called self-control people, show you a little something called respect that you should know about. What kinda screwed up day is this.

Ask people go out I go, say go watch movie I watch, you go watch your movie, I go watch mine. Budden.. End up go different way in the end, more of like I went out alone and met a bunch of friends along the way hor? Sien.. Spoil mood nia. Freakin' controlling myself from spilling all the foul language from Ah Long.. And much much more familiar words. Super letdown ahh.. Haiz..

Moral of the story? Never watch movies separately unless got more than 1 person. If not.. You may just go through what crap I went through too. [=

I'm Like A LAWyer...

Today, I take a step further into manhood. Today, I am reunited with man's best friend. Today, I get in tuned with man's masterpiece of all time. Today, I get in touched with the machine that changed it all. Today, I appreciate a little more those rough edged set of wheels. Today, I get to know man's second love (other than woman) a little bit better. Today...

I'm taking my law test!!! Hahahaha..

Soo.. Been cooped up at home the past few days whacking the 500 question law guidebook or something. Luckily all MCQs, can even tembak a few correct. Hahahaha.. Well, gotta say. Law is THE MOST boring part of the process of getting a driver's license. Hopefully don't hafta go for the 6-hours long talks or whatever. Yep u got that right, 6 FREAKIN' BLOODY HOURS!!! Just go there, do the test, pass and voila! Job well done. =D

Well, things ain't easy as it seems. Firstly, hafta study the driver's thingy and then do the questions. And my oh my.. Hell lot of crap to learn. =S

And alot more crap about being a pemandu berhemat or something.. All useless, brain-washing things wan lah.. Mostly all common questions. Hahahaha.. Haiz.. How I wish the guides were more like these though: (make things so much easier for us examinees, can pass much more easily summore XD)

How could anyone get this wrong?

UPDATEEE!!

Ahh... Internet! Glorious glorious internet! Bwahahahaha.. Pardon the mental retardedness.. Been deprived of internet for 2 weeks when my router went haywire in Singapore.. So hadta wait till i'm back home then could I go online. Oh yes, you heard what i said: I'M BACK!!! =D

Soo.. Due to the lack of online-ing and updates.. Missed out on quite a few events and stuff. So this post is entirely dedicated to everything and anything that has happened the past 2 weeks:

Founder's Day aka My school's birthday: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)'s 20th Birthday Bash:

Anyways, was part of the choir singing the NEW school anthem that the Year 5 & 6 (Form 6 & ... 7? Lol) students sang. Recorded summore leh.. Not bad worr.. Principal said it was gonna be used till.. Forever? XD

Attire for the day.. All black + silver tie. Pretty contrast eh? Well, it's the typical choir outfit. Plain colour + striking tie. Well, despite the fact that the whole school was singing along the school anthem and the new song was blasted so loudly that we choir were undistinguishable.. Gotta say it was one hell of a performance for my 1st time. XD

Leaving Senior:

A good friend of mine.. A fellow M'sian... We juniors mentor and guardian.. The old man of our circle of friends.. My Sabahan friend, Zhe Chaw or just plain Chaw, is leaving us to another school + hostel. He couldn't make it for the cut off points for the O level results was too strict. And.. he himself didn't try appealing hard enough.. so.. whatever lah.

Main point now is.., He's LEAVING!!! Omg, Chaw.. How could you? Gonna miss you like mad man.. All your lame jokes.. Your "pro" basketball skills.. Your stupid laugh. Hahahahaha.. Haiz.. Hopefully will see you around more. Remember to go church ah? Heheehe.. Good luck & all the best in AJ & Oldham! You'll always be in our hearts.. Not like you're leaving Singapore or whatever.. but you know. [=

Exams & Results:

Finally finished my term tests.. Results are out.. And.. Honestly i gotta say I am not very pleased with my marks. Especially for the first term only.. Haiz.. Really gotta pull up my socks and get down to my studies. Hafta live up to my new year's resolution to improve in my studies. Till then.. I'll be busy slacking and playing around. God help me please! Lol..
