Double Trouble for Manchester United

VS

After an intense, nail-biting game between these two English heavyweights, a game that lasted 90 minutes with addition of 30 minutes of extra time. The score was:

Chelsea 3 - Liverpool 2

Chelsea dominated the first half of the game, with Drogba taking the lead by putting in Kalou's shot, which was blocked by Reina into the net. Torres then retaliated with a hustle shot in the second half, which tied the game 1 - 1.

With the previous game score of 1 - 1 also, the aggregate was now 2 -2 which led to extra time. During the first 15 minutes of extra time, the Chelsea magic happened. Ballack was tackled by Hyypia in the penalty box, which then led to a penalty taken by Lampard. And of course, Lampard scored easily. (See, Lampard did it for his mom. I told you so. I TOLD YOU SO!!! =P)

The second goal was contributed by Anelka who provided a superb assist which Drogba conveniently put into the net leaving Liverpool trailing behind by 2 goals. Score now is, Chelsea 3 - Liverpool 1.

Despite the demoralizing first half, Babel who subsituted for Torres lifted the hopes of the team by producing a powerhouse long shot that found home in Chelsea's net. Score: Chelsea 3 - Liverpool 2.

With very little time left, Liverpool struggled and strived hard to find an equaliser but just couldn't manage to do it in time. Chelsea was then declared the winner.

Most Valuable Player: Didier Drogba

Despite putting on a couple of "swan dives" as commented by Rafael Benitez, Drogba proved his worth by cooly adding two more goals into his career, thus putting Chelsea through to the Champion finals.

And oh yes, how could we ever forget Liverpool's left-back, John Arne Riise. Without him, this couldn't have been possible. Thanks Riise for the own goal, and hope there's many more to come in your career. XD

So, what's next? Chelsea will be facing Manchester United in the Champions finals AND at the same time, competing with the SAME club in the last two games of the EPL. Either way, Chelsea won't let Manchester United off without a fight for either two titles. It's either, Chelsea - champions for both OR Man United takes one and Chelsea takes the other BUT it definitely won't be Man U taking both home. Mark my words, this Chelsea won't allow.

Till then, it'll be Chelsea vs. Manchester United for both sides. May the best team win.
